Rule 3
Notification and registration of crime

(1) In accordance with sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Act, when giving an application in relation to any crime, it should be given in the format as per schedule-1.
(2) In accordance with sub-rule (1), compensation shall be given to the person making the application in accordance with schedule-2.
(3) If someone sends an application or notice as per sub-rule (1) without personally coming to the concerned police office and sending it through a person, the concerned police office shall accept such application or notice and pay the compensation to the person who comes with such application or notice in the format as per schedule-2.
(4) Even if the application submitted as per sub-rule (3) is not in the format as per schedule-1, it should be accepted and if any other necessary matter needs to be disclosed in relation to such application, the concerned police office may send an employee to the person who sent the application or information or bring him to the office to obtain the necessary information. .

However, the action on such application or information can be suspended until the application or information sent by post or through a person is accepted and authenticated by the person concerned.
(5) The application or information received as per sub-rule (1) shall be registered by the concerned police office in the crime registration book as per schedule-3.
(6) This rule shall not be deemed to prevent the relevant police office from taking action if information of a crime is received through any means other than the means mentioned in this rule.
